Coffee snobs and the extravagant foodies, Melbourne is here to deliver you the goods. With fine dining, boutique shopping and bars at each and every turn, you’re going to want to add Melbourne to your next city getaway.
For the busy bees with minimal time and a bit of extra dosh we’ve got your official 24 hours in Melbourne itinerary taking you all the way from Lobster Benedicts for breakfast to Vermouth cocktails for a late nightcap.
9:00 No Eggs On Toast
Where:The Hardware Société
Tucked into a typical Melbourne laneway, The Hardware Société is no basic b*tch cafe. You know your average eggs benny? Well these guys have gone one further to offer you the lobster Benedict. By popping into this quaint little joint for breakfast you’ll be off to a very good and very full start to the day.

10:00 Big spender & bargain hunters
Where: The Emporium or The Queen Victoria Markets
Keen for a little boujee shopping? Then hit up The Emporium for some high-end fashion finds from Chanel to Burberry. Or for something on the bargain end of town then of course you need to head to The Queen Victoria Markets where you can probably find your Chanel but it’s definitely not going to be real.

11:00 Coffee #2
Where: Manchester Press
In another alleyway cafe among the city streets you’ll find Manchester Press, known for their sweet and savoury bagels and their quirky animal design latte art. This cafe is the perfect spot to get a quick pick-me-up before heading off to the next Melbourne activity for the day.

11:30 Big Kid Time
Where: Luna Park
For the big kid in you Luna Park is the place to be. For the thrill seekers or the bag holders it’s the perfect spot to enjoy some time soaking up the fun and exciting atmosphere. Grab some cotton candy and maybe a goodie bag and then make your way back into the city for the rest of your 24 hours in Melb.

Where: SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium
Continue on with your big kid excursion with the Melbourne Aquarium where you can either spend a good hour exploring the different aquatic zones or book yourself in for a 45-minute tour of the icy wonderland where the King and Gentoo penguins live.

15:00 Late Lunch
Where: Tipo 00
If Italian is your go-to cuisine then this is going to be one hell of an experience for you: Tipo 00, rated as one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. From entrees to desserts, these guys definitely deliver a top-notch menu with all pastas made in-house. No matter what you get, you won’t be left disappointed (or the slightest bit hungry for that matter).

17:00 Arvo Bevy
Where: Section 8
You could almost stumble upon this open-air bar that’s tucked away in the side of yet another Melbourne laneway. Get your drinks served from a shipping container and take a seat on chairs and tables made from old pallets and beer kegs. Enjoy a bevy or two while soaking up the atmosphere before making your way to another one of Melbourne’s unique, higher end restaurants.

18:30 Mouth-gasm
Where: Supernormal
Get one the best Asian eating experiences in Melb with a menu influenced by restaurants in Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong. First thing’s first: you’re going to want to try the lobster rolls for entree and peanut butter parfait for dessert. Or if you’re indecisive but eat absolutely everything under the sun then we recommend getting the banquet where you’ll get the best of the menu without having to think.

20:30 Late Night Show
Where: Basement Comedy Club or theatre play
For the sophisticated folks we recommend checking out one of the many late night shows in Melbourne. For Harry Potter fans you can’t go past booking 1 part of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play. For the lovers of a good ol’ comedy sesh, grab a ticket to see a late night comedy show at the European Bier Cafe happening every Saturday night.

22:30 Nightcap
Where: Bomba
Top off the night with some late night drinks and snacks from Bomba, a Spanish tapas/rooftop bar in the city. For the foodies you’ve got your choice of endless tapas from charcoal grilled corn with dried maize to octopus & chorizo pinchos with potato foam. For the cocktail enthusiasts you’ll be right at home at their rooftop bar with an array of groovy cocktails from the Patsy Collins to the Pina La Bomba.

23:30 Regrets
Casino
Where: Crown Casino
If you’re still up for more, then our last activity but not a recommendation, is to finish off the night by smacking down whatever you’ve got left on the tables or have a quick slap on the many pokies at the Crown Casino.

And there you have it, 24 hours in Melbourne for the big spenders. Before attempting this mammoth of a day we advise that you download SearchParty before hand because you don’t have a second to waste in finding your drunk mates who’ve wandered off after a few too many at Section 8.
