As we get ready for hibernation in Australia, Europeans are doing the opposite and getting ready for some of the best international summer festivals for 2019. Not sure which festivals we’re talking about? We’ve created a rundown of Europe’s 13 finest that might just make you feel more depressed about our fast approaching winter – or looking up flights, STAT.
1. Primavera Sound, Barcelona

The best of Barcelona isn’t just looking at world renowned architecture whilst riding around on Vespas. It’s the local hotspots that’ll have you living it up on your Euro vacay. For a view of the city like no other, head to Bunkers del Carmel (abandoned anti-aircraft defences) to watch the sunset, drink in hand of course. Head to the top of Mount Tibidabo, Barcelona’s highest peak, where you’ll find an old amusement park and a church. Or if you’d rather stay on the ground you can always get lost in the streets of Old Town, where you’ll uncover hidden gems at every turn.
3. Hurricane Festival, Scheessel

In Bakken you can witness the World Santa Claus Congress being held in July at the world’s oldest amusement park. And for the LEGO fanatics, make sure book a few days of your trip to go visit LEGO Land, Denmark’s most famous and popular amusement park.
6. Wireless Festival, London

8. EXIT Festival, Serbia

Travel Tips: Serbia
If a three day festival bender doesn’t quite cut it, you can get your party fill in Belgrade, where ‘every night is Friday night’. The only place to be in summer is by the Hot Mess Pool Bar, famous for its Monday RNB Events. Or if you want to hit it up first-class style, get yourself a bottle of Belvedere at the world famous Hype Nightclub. Regardless of your style Belgrade has you covered with its epic club scene and best of all, no entry fee (shocked and confused).
9. Ultra Europe, Split, Croatia
When: 12-14 July
Lineup Highlights: Elesso. David Guetta. DJ Snake. Adam Beyer. Sweedish House Mafia.

Travel Tips: Croatia
If you’re heading to Croatia for Ultra then you better plan to do some Island hopping while you’re there. Spending time in Croatia over summer is bucket list worthy and not just for the insane festivals but for the ultimate party experience. You’ve got the Banje Beach Club in Dubrovnik where you can party away at the beachfront nightclub, head to Hula Hula Hvar to experience their burlesque themed club or loose yourself in Pag at Kalypso, on their famous open-air dance floor. So many choices, so little time.
10. Tomorrowland, Belgium

12. Untold Festival,Romania

13. Loveland Festival, Amsterdam
When: 10-11 August
Lineup Highlights: Solomun. Adana Twins. Anja Schneider. Cassy. Carl Cox. ArtBat. Joey Daniel.

Travel Tips: Amsterdam
There’s more to do than getting high and riding around on push bikes in Amsterdam, although still a must. If you don’t mind waiting in lines you should visit the Anne Frank House for a look into ‘her life, the diary, and the Secret Annex’. Or for something a little more easy going you can do a beer tasting tour at the award winning artisan Microbrewery or go see the ‘world’ at World Cinema. Anyone traveling around Europe should aim to have Amsterdam at the top of the list for their 2019 travel destinations.
