One week it was the Burleigh Pav, the next it was Hyde Paradiso … It seems that every week in the blink of an eye the Gold Coast gets a new niche hot spot and honestly we can’t get enough.
Gold Coasters, get ready because you’re about to be bombarded with a fresh suite of dinner date spots just in time for summer. From our first ever plant based Japanese restaurant to yet another American diner filled with burgers, hotdogs and copious amounts of loaded fries, we’ve got 10 of the latest and greatest coming to the Coast this summer.

1. Pink Monkey Bar And Grill
We’ve all been eagerly awaiting the reveal of the girl bar-next door. Justin Lane has a new rival in town in the form of a rooftop bar. Sitting pretty on the Gold Coast Highway, Pink Monkey is expected to grace us with its presence soon and we are ready, knife and fork in hand.

2. Light Years Asian Bar And Diner
Another Burleigh bar that’s ready to be ravaged by locals is positioned next to our beloved brekkie favourite, Commune. If you’ve tried this Asian delight in Byron or Noosa then you already know how damn good it is. This place is going to be an optimal double-date haven with a menu designed to share.

3. Fat Freddys
Some may say cheat-meal, others may say completely destroying the summer diet … semantics really. This new American themed diner (with a twist) works on providing you with the goods with its play on American classics: New York street dog, brisket burger, mac & cheese croquets with truffle mayo while still maintaining its American diner dignity with the classic milkshake and a good ol’ ice cream spider.

4. Miss Moneypenny’s
If American eats aren’t up your alley and you’d like to remain the same size jeans that you walked in with then veer off to the restaurant next door, Miss Moneypenny’s. This Noosa-born brand launches in Broadie this week, serving up funky fresh cocktails and Mediterranean inspired dishes that’ll keep you coming back for more all summer long.

5. Custard Canteen
The creators of the much-loved Gold Coast cafes (Paddock, Bam Bam and Cubby) have made another baby and this time the spotlight is on Portuguese tarts in all their glory. Custard Canteen is scheduled to open in December, giving you plenty of time to hit the gym before destroying your summer bod on an abundance on flaky, creamy little custard tarts. Brunch is on!

6. Margarita Cartel
The new Mexican restaurant on the Burleigh block and it’s going to be filled with a bounty of guac, tacos and 10/10 tequila for all. Mark it in your calendars people, because Margarita Cartel is set take off with its official launch next Tuesday 17th September.

7. The Beer Garden
Talk about a glow up, the newly renovated Surfers Beer Garden has gone from a generous 4/10 to a 10/10. With an outdoor dining and bar area, pool tables, mini soccer, giant Jenga … basically whatever your heart desires -they’ll have it delivered to you on a slightly beer stained platter.

8. The Bavarian, Robina
We’ve seen these guys popping up like ants at a picnic, however they’re not unwanted. The Bavarian has a new home right outside of the Kitchens at Robina Town Center. Get your fill with a much-loved German menu, cultural inspired interior and over 20 beers on tap served in 1-litre steins.

9. Pink Flamingo
The freshly opened Pink Flamingo aims to offer sexy cabaret stage shows with a good mix of clubbing and pretty-in-pink deco. Perfect for the girls night out when you’re sick and tired of hitting up the same old boring bar and you’re up for a little adventure.

10. Izakaya Midori
Vegan Japanese … it’s unheard of, that is up until now with Izakaya Midori answering Gold Coast’s much needed prayers. This Japanese restaurant is the very first plant based Japanese gem on the Coast where you can get ramen, sushi, gyoza and even sashimi that’s so good you’d never know that it’s vegan.
