Coachella Weekend 1 is almost upon us! For those getting ready to jet off to the States this week, we envy you. However for those not so lucky souls who have decided to give it a miss, don’t fret because we’ve narrowed down the top 10 places to go that’ll take away some of that Coachella FOMO.
The perfect place for a luxurious lunch in Mediterranean style. Hyde Paradiso is the newly opened bar on the Gold Coast that offers a mix of Greek, Turkish, Moroccan, Lebanese and Italian cuisine. If you feel like day drinking then they also offer a bottomless brunch for $89.
If you’re yet to board the Yot for a boozy day on the water then you’ll have to give it a go, however if you’re a sufferer of sea sickness and gin is your cup of tea then give Cape Byron Distillery a try.
It’s no Coachella but if you’re a lover of beer and festivals then get yourself a ticket to the GABS Beer festival happening in Brissy on the 27th. With your ticket you’ll get souvenirs, a silent disco, circus and sideshow acts and exclusive access to up to 120 festival beers and ciders!
A hidden gem in Robina designed for the locals, with an imaginative menu where the focus is on small and punchy bar snacks. If Japanese cuisine is more your style then Etsu in Mermaid will bring you to tears of joy with their wagyu carpaccio and soft shell crab.
Mexican lovers unite. This modern Mexican restaurant centred in the heart of Surfers has over 12 different margarita variations and 30 different tequilas. Or if you’re a lover of all things vegan then you have to try Greenhouse Canteen for their $5 taco Tuesday.
Black Hops 2 is here and if you loved the Burleigh brewery then you’ll be down for this. With a 150 sqm taproom, brewery tour and tasting offerings, you’ll be leaving very satisfied.
If ramen is your jam then this is the spot for you. It’s hands down the best ramen on the Coast so get down and give the classic ramen a crack. For the Brissy crew we’ve got good news, there’s a brand new Danbo that’s just opened in South Brissy!
It’s only the beginning for this brand new double-story cafe. With a new menu set to drop in the coming weeks soon enough this little cafe will transform itself into an indoor bar, an outdoor beach bar and even a beer garden! Keep your eyes peeled for this one along the Gold Coast Highway.
If you’re after something a little more fancy, Frankies is the place for you. Or for something a little more casual Harry’s Steakhouse has just launched a new sports bar that’ll be perfect for a Saturday afternoon with the boys.
For those of you who’ve just spent your last $$ on Splendour tix and can’t afford to go out, our best advice is to duck into BWS, grab a bottle of the cheapest wine, pop on the SP_SITG playlist, and get yourself pumped up for that instead.
