To make the most of your trip we’ve created your guide to Coachella ’19 with all things fashion and parties. If you’re extending your trip Stateside a little longer, we’ve also got some hot picks to keep you busy, fed and entertained while you’re there.
Pack lightly: If you’re coming from Australia then it’s wise to pack light. It’ll give you more room for shopping and you won’t have to lug around a heavy suitcase the whole time.
Save space: In order to save space for your extra shopping you should focus on pre-planning your Coachella outfits. If you’re camping, pack in order of the days you’ll be wearing each outfit. It’ll save you from making a mess in your suitcase when you go searching for the outfit on the day.
Basic is better: Light dresses, shirts and shorts – these are your best option in the heat and with limited luggage space. Pair it with some sneakers and a few accessories and voila.
Goldenvoice: Goldenvoice have announced their annual calendar of sideshows for Southern Cali, from Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Barbara, Pomona, Palm Springs to Indio. These include shows from The Echo, The 1975, Mac Demarco Chvrches, Jaden Smith and Tame Impala.
Official Coachella camp: The Hilton Hotel is hosting the official Coachella Day Club party for Weekend 1 and 2. Weekend 1 includes sets from Nora En Pure, Rufus Du Sol and Los Angeles Sound Nightclub. Weekend 2 brings Diplo, Dillon Francis and Jaus, with support acts yet to be announced for both weekends.
If you’re doing a little bit of exploring while you’re in the States then we’ve added these to your Southern Cali itinerary, even if you’ve only got a few days to spare.
Los Angeles: Book an Airbnb and spend a few days relaxing and shopping.
Santa Monica: Hire a bike and ride The Strand bicycle path. The route includes the Manhattan Beach Pier, Venice Beach, and the Santa Monica Pier.
Las Vegas, baby: Hire a car and do a quick road trip to Vegas, 4 hours from Coachella. Book a last minute one night’s stay at any of the hotels in the centre for a day of shopping and a night of partying.
California: Let your inner child bloom at Disneyland California, and if you really feel like splurging you can even stay at the Disneyland Resort for the night.
San Diego: Head to the San Diego Zoo for a day of animal fun. With leopards, giant pandas, giraffes and grizzly bears you will not leave disappointed.
